Internship

2008 interns on lobby Day at the Supreme Court

In D.C. for a semester or summer?

Consider interning with us at our national office. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for the next semester (summer counts as a semester). Internships are designed to be substantive and contribute important work to the departments which have them. We work with schools to ensure interns receive any applicable academic credit and a living stipend is provided during the summer.

Interns also receive a local transportation subsidy to cover costs when using public transportation. A written performance evaluation is provided at the conclusion of the internship. Eligibility varies by internship; for more information please see below for open positions. PLEASE NOTE: Undergraduate internships are geared towards undergraduate students currently without a degree. These are not full-time positions. For current full-time openings at Americans United, please visit our employment page.

Update: August 24, 2009. Fall 2009 positions are open for application.
